Before you can start to learn to drive, there are a few things that you should have or have done.
You must have a provisional driving licence. If you do not have one, then you can apply for one here.
You must have the required eyesight; see below.
You must be able to read (with glasses or contact lenses, if necessary) a car number plate made after 1 September 2001 from 20 metres.
You must also meet the minimum eyesight standard for driving by having a visual acuity of at least decimal 0.5 (6/12) measured on the Snellen scale (with glasses or contact lenses, if necessary) using both eyes together or, if you have sight in one eye only, in that eye.
You must also have an adequate field of vision—your optician can tell you about this and do a test.

Contact us. If you have both of those, your next step is to contact us to discuss your needs and book your first or trial lesson.
We only teach the practical side of the driving test; you will need to pass your theory test before you may take your practical driving test.
You may subscribe to the government's official theory teaching apps by clicking here. You will also need to take a hazard perception test.

Our car is fitted with dual control pedals, which allow your instructor to operate the clutch or apply the brakes. If needed, your instructor can bring the car to a stop.
A clever little device displays your driving speed to your instructor via a projection on the windscreen.
